Job Description:
A prestigious and growing law firm is seeking associates to join its highly regarded Tax practice group. The ideal candidates will have a solid understanding of the technical aspects of tax law, including research and writing abilities, as well as experience in strategic and private equity M&A transactions, capital markets (including spin-offs and IPOs), investment fund formation, and/or real estate matters (including REITs).

The successful candidates will be enthusiastic about interacting directly with clients and have a passion for problem-solving on complex, novel issues. The tax group emphasizes a collaborative and client-focused approach, and associates will be given the opportunity to gain significant exposure to challenging tax matters while working closely with partners and senior attorneys. This position is ideal for those who are eager to develop their career in tax law within a dynamic, forward-thinking team.

Responsibilities:

  • Work on tax matters related to strategic and private equity M&A transactions, capital markets (including spin-offs and IPOs), investment fund formation, and real estate (including REITs).
  • Provide strategic tax advice to clients and participate in tax planning and compliance efforts.
  • Draft and review tax-related documents and legal materials.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships while working on complex and often novel tax issues.
  • Collaborate closely with colleagues and participate in public speaking, including at national tax conferences.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (JD) required.
  • Class years 2018-2021.
  • Experience or strong interest in strategic M&A, capital markets, investment funds, and/or real estate tax matters.
  • Outstanding writing, oral communication, and analytical skills.
  • Top academic credentials.
  • Ability to think creatively and approach complex legal problems with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for client interaction and teamwork.

Compensation & Benefits:
The salary for this position ranges from $260,000 to $390,000, with an anticipated salary of around $365,000. The exact salary offered will depend on experience, qualifications, and other operational considerations. In addition to competitive compensation, the firm offers comprehensive benefits, including:
