About the Role:
Our clients are currently seeking a Patent Associate/Agent to join a growing and dynamic Intellectual Property Practice Group in Austin, TX. This firm is consistently ranked among the top global law firms, offering the opportunity to work on cutting-edge IP matters for clients across various industries. The role involves supporting the development, procurement, and strategic counseling of patent portfolios, with a strong focus on computer arts, including software, AI/ML/LLMs, web applications, telecommunications, and integrated circuits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and prosecute patent applications in the computer arts field.
- Manage patent portfolios and develop strategies to protect clients’ innovations.
- Collaborate directly with clients and internal teams to provide expert guidance on patent-related matters.
Requirements:
- Education: A degree or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred. Candidates with backgrounds in Mechanical Engineering or other relevant technical fields will also be considered.
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications, particularly in the software and technology sectors. Strong experience in drafting complex software patent applications is a plus.
- USPTO Registration: Must be registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
- Skills: Excellent academic credentials, strong writing and analytical skills, and the ability to work directly with clients.
